What do you want to accomplish with your site? Do you want to advertise? Do you want to present your skills and abilities? sell….

Content

Whether it is text, photos, video or music, you will need content, otherwise referred to as “assets,”. Assets communicate who and what you are. It may sound simple, but if you want your website to be discovered on the vast landscape of the internet, there is an axiom: Be honest and tell your story as it really is. Choose a domain name that is easy to remember and relevant to your site, and populate it with content that reflects who you are. If you don’t have your own content I can help.

There are many variables in developing a site, fill out my Contact Page , tell me about your project and I will get back in touch with you so we can have a discussion about your website and the cost.

While I do work by the hour I usually like to give my clients a firm price for my work.

Front of the House and Back of the House

Front - What visitors see when they visit your site.

Back - There are also items on your site that will not be visible to the visitor but are critical to its proper operation. SEO, or search engine optimization, mentioned above, is one of these behind-the-scenes construction elements plus all the software to make websites work.

Drafts, Revisions and Testing

Once hired, I’ll incorporate your images and content into a ‘mock-up’ of your site. Once you have viewed the mock-up the next phase is truly collaborative. You are encouraged to provide feedback. Revisions are an integral part of the web development process and allow for a final result that is exactly what you want. Your site will also require testing to ensure that everything looks correct and that all links and navigation function properly. Be aware that this takes time, but is a crucial part of the process.

Analytics

Google Analytics and Google Search Console are tools that can help you understand and improve your website's performance.

  • Google Analytics tracks website traffic and provides insights into how visitors interact with your site.

  • Google Search Console helps you see how your site is performing in search engines and identify any issues affecting your rankings.

I will do this for you:

  1. Register your site with Google as a Property. This will give you a unique identifier for your site, which Google will use to track your traffic and performance.

  2. Upload a site map. A site map is a list of all the pages on your site, which helps Google and other search engines index your site correctly.

  3. Validate your site. This confirms that you own the site and have permission to track its traffic.
